| The North Central Ohio Soap Box Derby has produced one world champion during the 60-plus years of soap box derby competition.
Back in 1993, Delta's Dean Lutton won the local race and went on to win it all at the All-American Soap Box Derby. Numerous other racers from the North Central Ohio Soap Box Derby have gone and placed at the All-American as well. The following is a list of winners of past Mansfield-area Soap Box Derby races. The Derby was put on hold during World War II (1941-45) and had a second hiatus from 1952-57 due to a lack of sponsorship.
