| The North Central Ohio Soap Box Derby has produced one world champion during the 60-plus years of soap box derby competition.
Back in 1993, Delta's Dean Lutton (shown above is his car which can be found in the soap box derby museum) won the local race and went on to win it all at the All-American Soap Box Derby. Numerous other racers from the North Central Ohio Soap Box Derby have gone and placed at the All-American as well. The following is a list of winners of past Mansfield-area Soap Box Derby races. The Derby was put on hold during World War II (1941-45) and had a second hiatus from 1952-57 due to a lack of sponsorship.
